OK, boys and girls, we just lost another great pioneer of Rock’N'Roll guitar! Cool Since he was another of the gallery of “The Greatest Unknown Guitarists”, and was living in Denmark; we probably won’t hear a darned thing about it here in the States. Link Wray, the father of distorted guitar sound with his hit single “Rumble” in 1958; left us last friday, November 18, 2005. Here’s a link to the story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_Wray
He, Lonnie Mack, Les Paul, and Chet Atkins were the men directly responsible for my love of and desire to learn the guitar. “Rumble” was the first record I ever bought back in 1958. RIP, Link, I will miss you. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
